Montecristo is one of the most recognized Habanos brands in the world, its name originates from the novel The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
The Montecristo Grand Edmundo Edición Limitada 2010 is a distinguished, limited-edition Cuban cigar released as part of Habanos S.A.’s celebrated Edición Limitada series. This cigar measures 6 inches (150 mm) with a 52 ring gauge, offering a substantial and memorable smoking experience. Each cigar is meticulously hand-rolled in Cuba using specially selected tobaccos from the renowned Vuelta Abajo region, all aged for a minimum of two years. The Grand Edmundo is presented in elegant boxes of 10, making it a prized addition to any humidor and a true collector’s item.
This cigar is know as Cañonazo in the factories of Cuba, which translates into English as 'canon shot'. This release marked the first time the iconic Cañonazo size was produced outside the Cohiba brand. Previously, this vitola was exclusive to the Cohiba Siglo VI, making the Grand Edmundo a notable expansion for Montecristo. All leaves used in this cigar were aged for at least two years, enhancing smoothness and complexity.
Founded in 1935 by Alonso Menéndez in Cuba, Montecristo is one of the world’s most iconic cigar brands. The brand’s name and logo were inspired by Alexandre Dumas’ classic novel, The Count of Monte Cristo, a favourite among cigar rollers who would listen to readings of the story in the factory. Montecristo quickly gained a reputation for quality and innovation, becoming the best-selling Cuban cigar brand globally. Today, Montecristo is synonymous with excellence, tradition, and a rich, balanced flavour profile, enjoyed by aficionados and collectors worldwide.
